This training and partnership will make our school a better place for all of us to be

Jason Malone, Principal of Dorset Studio School

DISCOVER THE POWER OF SHUT IT DOWN.

"Shut It Down challenged our staff to think critically about our young men as products of their society, before equipping them with the tools to challenge, diffuse and de-escalate misogynistic language. This training and partnership will make our school a better place for all of us to be"

"Thank you for putting this workshop on. I really appreciate that you are both teachers that go above and beyond to make a change. You clearly are passionate about making sure children have the best outcomes in life. As you said, you only need one teacher to have an impact on a child’s life and I feel really reassured that my son is at a school with teachers that are wanting to make a difference. Thank you"

"The training session delivered by Amy and Joe was exceptionally informative and helpful in helping me to unpick how I would tackle misogynistic views in my classroom and school.

Lucy Smith - Head of English"

Fabulous to see Amy Ringrose and my lovely friend Joe Burkmar deliver their anti-misogyny message in a Shut It Down assembly today at Avonbourne Academy. They do an amazing job and are clearly so passionate about this topic, but the delivery is inclusive and contemplative, rather than one that lectures our boys or patronises our girls. Thank you both for your time and passion!

Marie-Claire Mowlam

Deputy Initial Teacher Training Lead

"The session was deeply informative and encouraged self reflection on how to tackle misogyny in schools, highlighted subtle beliefs and developed a level of empathy within myself through the understanding of how these views become entrenched" - Head of Year 10

"So lovely to be in a discussion that doesn’t advocate calling out and shaming misogyny into digging in but rather real solutions"

"Teachers need this now more than ever. Thank you the Good Men Project for giving us the tools to tackle misogyny in schools." - Della Darvill, music teacher

"Very grateful to hear this conversation being had in schools- as a teacher and mother of boys!"

"I have attending many training sessions due to working in residential child care and I Shut it down was very informative and easy to take in. Very well delivered."

"Beforehand, I would’ve found the topics of misogyny and toxic masculinity pretty intimidating, but they broke things down in a really clear and approachable way. The stats they shared were eye-opening, and they gave us loads of useful phrases and strategies to help tackle these issues calmly and thoughtfully. Honestly, this CPD should be a must for every teacher. As a female teacher, I left feeling confident and ready to support male students in thinking more carefully about how their actions affect others."

Amy and Joe are experts in their field and are committed to making a difference in young people's lives. They can really capture, engage and inspire any audience sat in front of them.

Leon Lima, Principal of Glenmoor and Winton Academies
